2011 is Here. Yipee.
There is, I suspect, a general problem with blogging while drunk ("BWD"), but in this case, since I am also trying to fight off some nasty cough-fever-hacking thing my kid has, I think I'll forgive myself. I've been in the house now for three days and I'm kind of sick of it. Mind you - just kind of, cause really, I like being home with my kid, my cats and my dog. My sick mom, not so much. I told my sister that she needs to go a convalescent home (cue scary music) and my sister told my mom. I don't care much, even though mom isn't so keen on the idea. I probably wouldn't be either, but I'd understand. I guess that is the practical in me - whatever's going to work is fine with me.
Since I've realized that I'm really mad at my mother for not taking care of herself and being so in her own world, I've started to forgive myself for being mad in the first place. I know that parents get old and that children get resentful (going through that now myself). My mom is a special case (I know, everyone says that), but she really is - she's the most manipulative person I've ever met. I've seen more manipulative people, but that's generally been in episodes of Masterpiece Theatre. She truly is in a class by herself and a force of nature. Which is why it is so difficult to tell her to let go. To let go of me and Cam, to go to her pasture. She doesn't want to go, but she does. So, we exist in limbo, without a way out.
So, I've caught up on a few things - well, actually, a lot of things having to do with the medium of television. For instance, I got with it and hooked up my Blu Ray DVD player and Wii to Netflix. I've seen more foreign flicks in the past month than I have in the last 15 years. I even watched the reboot of Battlestar Glactica, which was quite enjoyable - if a little uneven.
I even discovered a new handsome man - Jamie Bamber. Enjoy.
Apparently, he's on Law and Order UK, only the BBC US which I recently got rid of (after Luther). I might have to rethink that one.
CAMERON has now requested to help write the post and he wants to see his name, hence, CAMERON in caps. He's sick and coughing. Probably going to get me sick.
Well, the Jack is staring to do it's job -- and then the Nyquil is up (please do your job).
Can I just say - don't let Southland languish. It really is one of the best shows on TV today. Tune in for the great writing and performances. Regina King and Michael Cudlitz are amazing. Trust me.
